"what's wrong with sitting
and watching the stars?" Of all the brats she had to start with it was more than obvious that she would end up picking the shy one, rather her than another student at least right? His quirk was quite interesting... though of course she already had that information squared up and neat in a little folder she had uh... definitely read! There was no doubt that his heart was in the right place and it was relatively inoffensive. Maybe he'd benefit the most from something where he'd get a head start on getting to know everyone, but of course Sakiya was just hoping social pressure would push him to speak up to his classmates if he at least knew their names first. Kazuyuki noted who to pick for her snowball team. "Thank you very much Kazuyuki, welcome! We have a pretty snow season down here I'm sure you'll like it at the academy."
If the first kid person was a little shy than this girl coming up could be described as anxious, whether that was from her family situation or from bullying Sakiya hardly could tell the difference. She knew bits and pieces about her students she had skimmed through, Yoko's aunt ran a circus near Musutafu that was fairly popular with showmen and about no one else. She had at least heard the girl's father was a genuinely nice person. The rushed ending was sure to draw a few eyes but the Ferry Hero wasn't about to fault her for it, people genuinely sucked most of the time... even more high school students, of course she wasn't in the line of work to be complaining about something like that! "Ninjas huh? Well you definitely came to the right place if you're looking for such memories, I'm actually the descendent of a ninja myself~!" If a hero's nose could grow in size, hers would no doubt be the size of a ladder.
After a few more students the whiteboard would find itself onto a more serious looking student than many of the other classmates, he made his points quick and precise. It was simple and didn't give too much away, that said those were the ones that often held the most stories underneath... maybe he wasn't confident in his reasons for being here. Whatever the case she wasn't about to push anyone to speak further about their hobbies, he seemed to have very intrinsic hobbies not that she was much different growing up. Books of ninjas and arcades weren't much outside of her past delinquent days nearing high school. She hoped to get to hear more about him when he grew more comfortable.
Finally it ended on a girl who didn't physically stand out compared to the other students, but what she lacked on the outside she clearly made up for in her more wordier introduction. It was the distinction of a just hero that stood out to Sarasaki but she wasn't one to be able to pull meaning out of something like that, whatever the case it seemed that the young lass had clear reasons for wanting to be a hero and a firm passion to meet her fellow classmates... at least one of them was about to bring this classroom together! Cause only the gods knew Sakiya was going to have to try hard to get this lot in cohesive shape.
When the whiteboard finally made its way back to her she'd give it a gentle tap before placing it down gently onto her desk. Having had to sit still far longer than she had hoped for, Sakiya would no doubt find herself standing up from her desk and giving a loud stretch before strutting across the front of the room in a lecture manner, "With our introductions out of the way I all hope you get to know each other better! I'm certain you all know your way well around the campus around this point so there will be little need for explanation there." The newly-indocrtrainted teacher would scratch at the back of her head with a ruler in thought, this speaking thing was way harder than it looked... having to figure out things for her students to do, she grew relieved they didn't give her the Heroic Education course like she had come here hoping for.
With a loud sigh her boredom would be more than obvious before a flash of realization crossed her face, "Well next week I'm quite certain you'll all be excited to hear that you will be partaking in your physical assessments! These will be lessons that will be used to test the limits of your quirk as well as your own physical capabilities, being a hero isn't just about your quirk after all, it takes a strong body and mind!" She'd grin to herself, clearly already excited about the prospect of getting out of the classroom, "I'm sure you all have some questions though, about classes, about the school, or maybe about me! Maybe that'll help us all to get to know each other." The platform was open for anyone with a question to speak it now, though Sarasaki was no doubt stalling for that bell to kick the classroom into gear.

"what's wrong with sitting
and watching the stars?" It was true that Seijin had an earlier doctrine when it came to teaching, and the lack of a curfew made it clear that students were going to have to manage their own sleep schedules if they were to make it to class without a bedhead. There was no doubt that among the class there was a clear lack of energy, and with it enthusiasm not that she was any better, she'd just had several more years experience at keeping up appearances no matter how tired you were. Her eyes would run over the class looking them up and down, it was about what she expected.
She'd wait for the class to fill before standing up from her desk to address the class. There was a slight bead of sweat forming on the edge of her neck, clearly not quite used to doing full on public speaking, "Alright! Now that everyone is here we can go ahead and start our pop quiz!" Her hands would clap together before waving it off, "Kidding... kidding... that was a joke, I don't have a quiz prepared. That said we are within weeks of starting our first points of the heroics education program and with that there has to be a tight unity with you and your classmates. I'm not asking you guys to become friends overnight but having you guys know each others names is a fine start!"
The first step to Seijin's unity based heroics education, you have to get to know your classmates after all. That's what set Seijin apart... on top of their weapon training of course. She'd pull out a small whiteboard from beside herself, "I want you all to take turns drawing something onto this whiteboard that is relevant to you, and then you can give a few points about yourself! I'll go ahead and show an example." She'd make a rough sketch of a boat on top of water, "I'm the Ferry Hero, Sarasaki! I like fishing, food, and hanging out where people aren't." She'd place the whiteboard and marker onto the desk of the closest student, being that of Kazuyuki's. "After you finish you can hand it to another student of your choice and then they go! We'll stop once everyone has had a chance to introduce themselves."

"what's wrong with sitting
and watching the stars?" The scent of the fresh forest leaked its way into the rather simplistic Seijin classroom, dewdrops practically dripping through presence alone. It was a familiar scent to the former Seijin student who reminisced through the atmosphere as if it was only yesterday she was coming in here to receive training of her own, yet this time it was quite different. Indeed this time she was to serve as the watchful eye of the homeroom teacher, in a way she couldn't help but miss those days she spent with her classmates. The Ferry Hero would let her soles rest upon the top of her desk as she looked over the sea of sitting desks, all soon to hold a hero to be of their own. That said... she wasn't exactly cut out for the teaching business, in all honesty the whole reason she had applied was to escape the eyes of her parents yet another time, cowardly avoiding responsibility once again. It was complete luck that her alma mater even gave her a chance like this... but she also knew she was on quite a short leash due to the circumstances of her hire.
By now the students would be rising out of their beds and be making their way to her in no time now, probably walking past the cafeteria and grabbing something to tide over their hunger. They haven't quite begun any true heroic education programs yet but coming up were the physical examinations, a test of each students current capabilities both with and without their quirks. Sakiya had already made particular notes of just how they were going to be conducting such a test down the line, but for today it was merely an introductions course to make sure that all of the students got to know each other, and that they got to know her as well. She wasn't a particularly well known outside of the Iga hero fan community, and even then her appeal was niche. Being a naval hero it wasn't often she got to parade around or make public appearances, she found herself more often just floating around the ocean on patrols in case of stranded cases of attempted sea poaching. Yet there was no doubt that those with a refined knowledge of Seijin would know her as... a rather mediocre student of little note, alright there wasn't much she was incredible at outside of her own element.
She'd let out a drawn-out sigh as her eyes rolled to the wooden ceilings above, was she really going to make this work? All in all it was really just escape... but who knows she might actually find this sort of thing entertaining. Reaching down she'd retrieve a small white-board, not that long ago she had written her very own hero name on something just like it and here she was watching the next generation do it... no matter how much heroism's faith was waning she couldn't deny there was something appealing about that. Her amber eyes would roll over to the door waiting for the students to make their way into the classroom so that they could begin their introductions.

NAME: Sakiya Hanzo ALIAS: The Ferry Hero AGE: 26GENDER: FemaleROLE: Hero Teacher ALTER EGO: SarasakiSCHOOL: SeijinCLASS: 1-A Homeroom Teacher
Sakiya is the self-proclaimed next in line of the Hanzo bloodline, an aspect of her life she bears quite proudly. While it's not entirely clear cut as to if she is a descendant of Hattori Hanzo or not, she will be sure to tell you it's not what is in your blood that counts but it's the feelings behind who you wanna be! Whether or not that's a good ideology to have or not is up for debate but she's certain in her claims.
Being a girl born in Iga District it was no surprise that she took so quickly to the belief in ninjas and how they would use every tool to their advantage, that said she wasn't exactly in a place of grand standing to end up upon that path. She was born to a family of rice farmers that specialized in the traditionalist hand-grown crop preferring to settle without using too complex technology. In exchange however they were highly specialized with their water quirks and that allowed them to perform types of irrigation well and beyond that of normal farmers giving them a slight edge when it came to the production. Needless to say the path of becoming a rice farmer wasn't exactly all she dreamed, often in the fields spending more time playing with the harvest scythe than she did actually harvesting the rice!
In school Sakiya was a social outcast, having trouble making friends and even greater trouble keeping them! She'd often spend classes daydreaming about the lives of ninjas, this life of isolation she lived being similar to the isolation they must've endured! Through this she managed to stave off the building loneliness in her life, drawing in her notepad and visualizing a life she could one day live.
It was on one rather long walk that she found herself face to face with a villain that'd been ravaging the area for sometime. Fear caught her in her tracks and she couldn't even stand to move as she knew what was soon to happen, yet out of the shadows she swore that she saw a ninja rescue her that day. Whether or not it was a ninja is highly contentious... but through this she learned of Seijin High a school that combined the arts of ninjas and the legality of heroes to create an unstoppable force, at least in the mind of a young girl that's how she saw it all!
Without skipping a beat she applied for Seijin High School and never looked back once she got accepted. After she got accepted she even cut all ties to her family, dropping her old last name in favor of one based on a legendary ninja. She still loved her family but she knew that them learning that she dropped the family business in favor of becoming a hero that she'd just get disowned anyway, so she left them in grief about whether or not their daughter went missing. It is still a decision she is uncertain about and one she regrets to this day but she considers it too late to go back now.
After graduating from Seijin High School she found herself a major part of the naval hero group Koi and served as part of their front line investigative force for a few years before realizing her true calling... and not just because her parents started to put one and one together about the new hero who specialized in a quirk very similar to their former daughter. She quickly went back to her old alma mater and quickly applied for a teaching position, while she didn't have the skill set to teach any major core classes they gave her a homeroom class where she was to manage and keep an eye on the students.
And now she begins her first year of teaching at Seijin High School, hoping to settle down and stop this life of running she has grown so attached too. QUIRK: Water CrossingQUIRK TYPE: Emitter QUIRK DESCRIPTION: Sakiya is capable of changing many aspects of how water flows such as how fast it's going, and which direction it is going in. In some cases she is even capable of parting water to create grounded paths.

NAME: Sakiya Hanzo, Sakiya Yamamoto (Birth Name) ALIAS: The Ferry Hero AGE: 26GENDER: FemaleROLE: Hero Teacher ALTER EGO: SarasakiSCHOOL: Seijin High SchoolCLASS: 1-A Homeroom Teacher
POSITIVE TRAITS >Relaxed >Optimistic >Youthful >Tolerant
NEGATIVE TRAITS >Lazy >Childish >Runs From Her Problems >Mannerless
LIKES >Fishing >Koi >Rice >Ninjas
DISLIKES >Farming >Flirts >Poaching >Crowded Places
Sakiya embraces the fisher's spirit being someone who could casually float along the river's embrace with nothing more than the swaying of the water to keep a smile on her face. Her whole being radiates in that all too informal relaxed attitude not sweating the detail of anyone who comes her way and shrugging off problems that others would dwell on, this relaxation also rears its head through laziness to an unsupportable degree. She'll spend many hours on a boat trying to avoid as much work as possible, most of the time falling asleep while she lets the current drag her away. While she's willing to put aside her lackadaisical attitude when it comes to her work trying to get her to do something off the clock is near impossible unless there is a powerful motivator waiting for her on the other side of it all.
Trusting in the river's flow has made the young Hanzo into something of an optimist who can have faith in the tides of fate no matter which way they blow, knowing that one day tragedy can only breed miracles. Even now she holds onto the dream of heroes and knows that one day everyone will share in her views even if people are uncertain now, just like a shaky current you just have to give it time to settle.
Sakiya reeks of youth, while not caring about current trends she's quick to pick up the latest slang and spends a lot of her time indulging in the youthful culture while exploring the latest entertainment. This youthfulness however brings her into a bit of a childish attitude when she's off the clock. She's someone who isn't afraid to pull a prank every now and then and she isn't afraid to put herself at the end of a joke if it cheers someone up. This mischievous attitude was the disdain of the whole naval hero group she was hired at.
There are few things that the ferry hero can't accept from others, knowing much of strife and personal affairs she tends not to judge people on the choices they've made. She's the type to flee from her problems as they arise instead of dealing with them like a proper adult this has left her with a tail of bad blood spanning a mile wide and a just as long list of misunderstandings. Even to this day she hasn't told her parents where she's gone and joined the school solely to avoid having to confront that issue.
Being a fisher there is little more she likes than getting out there and casting her line to see what bites. The main driving force to as why she likes fishing so much being what comes after, cooking. She's not the best cook but she can filet you a fish and cook it faster than you can prepare the rice! That said when it comes to eating this food there is no one more messy, she'll dive head first into any bowl she finds appetizing and won't wait for you to fix your plate before grabbing seconds.
HEIGHT: 5'8 WEIGHT: 142 Lbs EYE COLOR: Orange Red HAIR COLOR: Red FACECLAIM NAME: Komachi Onozuka FACECLAIM SERIES: Touhou
Sakiya is a modest weight and fairly tall being about 173 centimeters, though she doesn't like mentioning just how much she weighs despite not being that concerning. Her outfits consist of light outfits that allow her to easily move around, though in the winter she does prefer wearing tacky fishing sweaters if just cause she finds them so entertaining. It's almost a crime not to see her carrying her small portable fishing rod wherever she goes and she almost has some bait tucked into her pocket just in case she wants to take a break and fish in the Seijin lake. Her hair is often neatly tied up into twin-tails, though it isn't uncommon to find her letting it down when she's too lazy to put it up. She rarely wears shoes due to the restrictions of her quirk, plus she thinks shoes are overpriced. If she does have to wear something she'll stick to cheap handstrewn sandals.
Hero hero costume is made up of very oceanic colors with deep blues and whites, though when stealth isn't an issue she'll often wear a long yellow muffler. Being a girl born in Iga District it was no surprise that she took so quickly to the belief in ninjas and how they would use every tool to their advantage, that said she wasn't exactly in a place of grand standing to end up upon that path. And now she begins her first year of teaching at Seijin High School, hoping to settle down and stop this life of running she has grown so attached too.
Rice Scythe: A large warped scythe that Sakiya uses offensively to offset her weak combat presence.
Fishing Rod: A small and portable fishing rod that's stashed away in the girl's light outfits, though when she's on longer outings she'll bring a whole tacklebox with her, often hung over her shoulder on a bamboo stick.
J-Rice Rocking Chair: The name of Sakiya's personal fishing boat and the one she's often using in rescue operations, it is a very simple wooden fishing boat with a paper lantern hanging off of its front. The workings of a girl who likes to keep it simple. It gets its name due to Sakiya's penchant for napping on it, and after the Japanese Rice her family used to grow. QUIRK: Water CrossingQUIRK TYPE: Emitter QUIRK RANK: Diamond QUIRK DESCRIPTION: Sakiya is capable of changing many aspects large bodies of water, through the pores of her feet. She has many techniques she uses via this quirk and it has a variety of applications but few are inherently combat oriented. She can deactivate any of her quirks techniques by putting her foot back into the water with the intention of doing so.
Rapids: The acceleration of currents or the creation of fast moving currents. Sakiya is capable of producing rapids up to 30 mph this speed allows her to quickly move along bodies of water even without a sail or motor. This affects a body of water up to 1 mile along it's flow. People who fall into the water have the potential of drowning and suffer major bruising due to the jostling from waters moving at such a speed. This current lasts up to 7 posts. She can also adjust the range of her quirk bringing it down as low as she wants to if she wants to precisely affect points of water.
Stagnant: Sakiya can completely stop the flow of water up to 50 mph fast, this can even stop the flow of waterfalls though only if she affects the water prior to where the water is falling from. This affects a body of water up to 1 mile and can last up to 7 posts but if the body of water is going above 25 mph the post count reduces down to 5 posts due to how much force it takes to stop that much water dead in its tracks.
Passage: Sakiya is capable of creating a parting in more shallow water allowing it to be walked through. Sakiya is capable of splitting water essentially by moving two sides of a body of water and stagnating them allowing a middle to be completely shallow enough and wide enough to bring a vehicle through. She can only perform this in water as deep of a river and only large enough for a Jeep-sized vehicle to cross. This lasts 5 posts.
Whirlpool: Sakiya can create a whirlpool by creating counteracting flows of water. This whirlpool is capable of incredible physical feats such as capsizing a ship the size of a small military ship and destroying larger buildings that are at least half under a body of water. This whirlpool covers a radius of about 30 meters (100 feet) around the point of contact with Sakiya. The force of the whirlpool is capable of breaking bones and potentially drowning those caught in it. It lasts up to 3 posts before dissipating.
Waves: Sakiya can create large waves through the use of counteracting flows of water. These waves are capable of strong feats of force such as destroying large buildings they come into contact with and putting dents in military vessels. The force of this water is capable of shattering bone upon contact and potentially drowning those who become overtaken by the large waves. These waves only last 1 post and can go 30 meters (100 feet).
Buoyancy: Sakiya is capable of making people within a large radius of water float to the surface even at some of its deepest levels. She can turn a body of water up to 1 mile wide into having the property of anything up to the weight of a heavy human to the surface of the water. This has the side effect of bringing any fish in the river to the surface though most often they are still under enough to keep from dying. This often covers the deepest parts of lakes or rivers but can only go a mile deep into the ocean before being ineffective.
Respiration: An odd use of her quirk, Sakiya is able to bring out flows of water that enter through someone's throat and into their lungs. If someone drowns within up to 3 posts of her arriving on scene she is able to treat the person and bring them back into consciousness with minimal health issues by redirecting the flow of the water in their lungs and bringing it out of their body. This takes 2 posts to perform. That said she has to step on your throat to perform this technique so she doesn't rely on it unless the situation is especially dire.
Speed Boat: A more concentrated use of her quirk, Sakiya is able to manipulate the speed of water solely under her up to a speed of 70 mph, she typically uses this as an accelerator to her boat to arrive on the scene of water incidents faster. This solely affects the speed of her boat and rarely serves a purpose outside that, though if someone gets caught into it they are bound to suffer a few bruises or a dislocation. She can control this for up to 7 posts but it does take concentrated effort.
Hydroplaning: A similar use of water as to what she does with her boat, if there is about .5 centimeters of running water on flat ground she's capable of speeding up a ground vehicle or flat piece of wood to go upwards of 70 mph along solid ground though if the ground isn't at least somewhat flat or the height of the water isn't quite high enough she isn't capable of picking up any speed at all. She can only affect a single target with this ability and it rarely picks up more than its intended target. If she does this to someone on the ground they will trip and begin being carried away by the water until they can get a grip of something This technique lasts up to 7 posts but it does take a concentrated effort.
QUIRK DRAWBACKS: Sakiya's quirk relies heavily on having active bodies of water nearby, if she doesn't have a large enough body of water her quirk has little to no value. She needs a body of water upwards at least the size of a creek to perform many of her techniques outside of a niche few.
She can only perform six of the techniques shown here for their full effect, before her feet begin to cramp to the point of it being intolerable. This is shown through the fact her feet forcibly curl and shrivel in pain. The recoil from overusing her quirk is so bad sometimes however that her foot may break from the immediate curling. There is no amount of rest she can feasibly do within a thread to alleviate this building exhaustion.
Sakiya's toes have to make physical contact with the water in question, or make contact with it through a thin substance such as flesh that is especially porous. If her legs are covered in an especially thick object that keeps her toes from touching the water she'll be incapable of using her quirk. As well as anything that tightens the pores of her foot such as extremely cold air.
To turn off any of these effects Sakiya has to retouch the water with her feet, and if someone keeps her away from the water she may lose control of what she's controlling.
SKILL NAME: Seijin Skill (Scythe) SKILL RANK: Platinum SKILL DESCRIPTION: Sakiya understands the basics of weapon training, acrobatics, and stealth. Her weapon of choice is a large rice scythe that has long been warped from so much time being used in both cold and hot water.
SKILL NAME: Medical Expertise SKILL RANK: Gold SKILL DESCRIPTION: Within the span of 3 posts they are capable of healing most Gold level injuries a character may be facing, including dislocation, gashes, and moderate elemental damage such as Gold level fire and electrical injuries. These wounds while not completely healed won't affect the person they heal for the rest of the thread. Sakiya specializes in water related injuries but she's gotten good at helping out with scratches and scrapes with her time as a rescue hero.
SKILL NAME: Mental Resistance SKILL RANK: Silver SKILL DESCRIPTION: They can reduce the effect of a mind effecting quirk by 2 posts. Much like the flow of water Sakiya's lazy mind tends to slip out of influences faster.
