Shimizu stared out at the setting summer sun; its blinding rays dwindled into the background, stretching out with its last dying breath to reach over the tall stretch of buildings between it. It was rare the girl was ever just quiet anymore. Distracted? Yes. Tired? Absolutely. But quiet was something new. Something strange. She folded her legs up onto the chair as she fiddled with the fork in her hand. So many questions crossed her mind, so very little actually led back to anything truly meaningful. Perhaps that’s why it was quiet- the way that endless feeling was suffocating to the point of stealing the breath itself from her lines of thought. Tick...tick...tick….Shimizu poked her fork down into the cake in front of her abruptly, slowly standing up as she could only watch.
Watch as the sun died down, and they were finally engulfed in the full night’s embrace.
And then she woke up. Her eyes scanned across the ceiling of her dorm room far far away from the little space in the nearby cafe she frequented at. It replayed in her head like a sick rerun of the same old movies. The sound of the fan whizzing in the background and the beating of her heart became her only company; the strange lonely reprieve that came from the endless silence that surrounded her. Shimizu rubbed the back of her head, rustling the tangled knots in her hair before she stumbled out of bed and grabbed her brush off her desk. It didn’t make sense to her. Well, the dewdrop user was used to that being the case at this point anyway.
Perhaps it was the warm summer sunset or the slight smell of rose petals on the wind, but she found herself meandering across Seiai’s campus; burying her hands in her pockets as she moved, staring up at the clouds above. She watched as the crowds separated themselves into different groups, colors in a crayon box separating into distinct categories with no sign of mixing. More things she didn’t understand. More things no one bothered to explain. Shimizu moved her gaze to the ground, quietly humming to herself as she hopped from tile to tile, mind numbingly just trying to pass the time.

It was getting late, just how Akiza liked it when it came to enjoying all the sights Seiai had to offer. There were several things she hated about the place, the way the students walked around like they owned the world, the way everyone tried to get close to her for status alone... but she would never hate the way the orange of the setting sun dyed the stone building into an unfinished painting just waiting to be completed. Her jacket would hang off of her shoulders as she wandered with her hands in the pockets of her tight pants. That said that wasn't why she found herself exploring the never ending halls of the glorified prep school, in fact she was looking for a cloud among swans.
It wasn't often she'd go out of her way to look for the meandering failure of society, and it was less often that she actually cared about if she was okay or not but it just so happened that Akiza needed the girl's help with something, a good reason if there was any right? Her white tail would whish through the air as she spotted the duck she was looking for. She'd approach Shimizu from behind placing a hand on her shoulder and spinning her around, "Where have you been!? I knocked on your door like two hours ago and you didn't open it! And then I came back a few minutes ago and you weren't in your bedroom but the door was unlocked! I locked your door for you by the way, so you should thank me for that!" Her mouth would run on nearly endlessly, clearly a girl who's used to talking to herself.
She'd compose herself as her ears went from shooting straight up to a flattened state, "Regardless of where you've been... I need you to come to the kitchens with me, I want to grab some food but I didn't want to bother getting out my own wallet!" Her hand would come down around Shimizu's, gripping her tightly. There was something about being able to hold hands again with someone that brought an odd sense of comfort to the self-proclaimed tiger... even if she was still upset Shimizu had ran off on her, at least they were together now and Akiza had no intention of letting go anytime soon!

The dropping sun painted the sky with the similar hue of the woman's eyes that glazed over the crowd that pass away filled with dignity and poise with a lazy look - Not a shred of any intention for her to mingle with any people who walks with that kind of behavior; why would she? Pampering over who the richer or what influence sphere that they hold - Such discussion would only serve as a waste of time and not even a good way to waste of time. Crack! Rion snap the back of her neck relieving the stiffness that has been accumulated on her neck, making her wonder... How can her dad be awake for three days straight standing still like a statue without his own body breaking down. That will remain as one of the greatest mystery that Rion doesn't want to crack upon on.Where was she going again? Ah, truly curse her own whim making her forget to where she was going - Wait no, it is not her own whim but rather her carelessness where she was going to return a book to the library yet she forgot to bring it despite she is now already in front of the library. With the realization, Rion can only sigh pondering whether she should go back to take the book or try to take a detour and fulfill what she needs now before going back to her dorm. Fortunately, her stomach answer it for her with a clear answer. "Kitchen it is. There should be some ingredients I can use to cook" Rion mumble to herself, letting her legs to lead her to the kitchen. One would expect that someone like Rion would prefer to buy food rather than cook one but for her - It takes a lot of time to pick compared to her cook anything she wants at that moment.Does that mindset makes her a good cook?
There is a reason on why she is banned from her house's kitchen despite her dad and mom are the best cook, something with the line of fire and.... fire.
Well, one thing for sure... The reason can be seen right now in the kitchen and it will be something that the first person to come in will see.  The over dramatization of what's happening. |

“I’ve been here! What do you mean?” Shimizu tilted her head to the side, looking her friend up and down before giving a small lopsided smile. She found that Akiza always said the funniest things. Never did she ever make a lick of sense anyway. But then without much input herself, she found herself being pulled off to the cafeteria. Shimizu wasn’t hungry. In fact, it was probably safe to say she was never hungry. But leave it up to Akiza to put some veiled attempt to make sure she has eaten by literally checking her dorm room first. They opened the door to the cafeteria and then….Fwooooshh!!! There are times Shimizu was quiet. The sheer potent substainous of an event leaving her as speechless as she started. Oh.
It’s a fire. The dewdrop user took a slow and steady breath, dewdrops bubbling and lifting up towards the air. Swirling, spinning, combining before quickly forming a blanket of water over the fire. She tilted her head slightly as the dewdrops and flames sizzled away, leaving only the smoke and burnt dreams behind. Shimizu took a deep breath, giving a bright smile as she waved enthusiastically over to the Queen of Rabbits in the kitchen. “Rion! Are you okay? Is the food okay?” The lack of sarcasm in her voice could only make her entire situation feel all the more disquieting.
There was a long pause in Shimizu’s mind as she casually walked up to the water fountain and took a drink; lest she even care about the event that such happened. “Oh! Akiza, are you okay? Did you see the fire?” Her brain moved around and clicked like a strange, mismatched puzzle that somehow, against all odds, had similar pieces.

is it worth asking?" Lackadaisical concern mixed with passive-aggressive remarks was truly the style of the Byakko, a bitter mix of lemon with just an ounce of sugar to show she cared. Not that the brat would ever admit to it. She knew if she wasn't looking out for the cloud that there were no doubts that it'd miss its daily source of floating dew. There were few people Akiza cared about more than the bubbly yet dense puff. As she walked hand in hand her ears would perk up, much to her chiding chagrin as they walked along. Her amber eyes would cut through the window before her ears would quickly rear back in attention, her eyes quickly shifting towards the sound of the flickering flame and billowing smoke. A white tail would begin flicking at the air as Shimizu quickly and adeptly dealt with the treat, if Akiza wasn't so self-centered she'd probably feel an ounce of pride at how efficiently the threat had been dealt with. The cat's ears would remain reared in an upright manner indicative of a cat's anger, there was no doubt there was someone vastly lacking in any form of brain cells to have caused such a mess to begin with. Yet as she watched the final traces of flicking torchlight fade from the kitchen she'd feel her tail ease back down into a calm manner, losing its excited twitches. There was just something about watching flame burn that set the cat alight like nothing else.
She'd take a deep breath before responding to Shimizu, calming her excited instincts, "I am quite alright, and what do we have here? Another stupid mess to clean up... I just wanted to get something to eat... and what do you mean could I see the fire? Are you implying I could be blind and in fact missed the glowing source of destruction that infested this room? The room that we are both currently in? As if in some way you have better eyesight than me? You do understand my animal senses are probably far keener than your pathetic attempts to challenge them? In fact, I doubt your lacking brain could even comprehend the number of fires that I could see!" Her lips would curl into a frown as she began approaching Rion, after vocally chastising the savior of the situation in all too common manner. She'd find her tail flicking away at the air as she stared eye to eye with the so-called troublemaker of the situation, "As for you, have you never cooked before? Why'd you waste your exhausting and rather disgusting attempts at cooking food within our community kitchen? You would've done much better bending over and hacking into your bathroom sink than threatening all of our safety with your mistakes! Honestly, you could've probably produced something far more appetizing that way!" Her soot-scented tail would feel right home in the disaster area.
She'd cross her arms her long ears twitching in frustration, "I'm surrounded by imbeciles... and here I am having to save the day yet again, I'm too good for this world." Her tail would whack against Rion's side as she turned around her made her way back over to Shimizu, "...it seems I have no choice but to invite you to come and eat in the school cafeteria with us... though be aware if you comment about my eating habits I will see to it that you have difficulty eating again for the next few months!" |

The act of the cat woman perks her ears amused her, ignoring the fact that Mizuyuri-san quickly extinguish the flame - dampening anything that is left with an abominable being that she tries to cook earlier. Letting Haneda-san blowing off her steam as challenging an angry cat would counter-productive for her so all she needs to do for now to wait for the other flame to get extinguished by herself. "Yeah... Yeah, Haneda-san. You are too good for this world, indeed" Rion nods as she quickly reach her hands out and pat the cat ears, ignoring the height difference. It might not be a rabbit ears but cat ears is good too.
"To my surprise, Mizuyuri-san. I am okay but I am afraid that my food is now as wet as the ocean right now" Rion stare at Mizuyuri and smiled, ignoring Haneda-san. She deemed that arguing with the cat lady would only tires her out. It is not like she doesn't acknowledge that what she done is not wrong but at least now she knows where it goes wrong - Cooking wine is not the same as vinegar and it made big fire. "I gave up on picking food, too many option making it tiring to pick one. So, I trust you to pick food that I can eat" Rion told Mizuyuri-san and Haneda-san, following those two ladies. |
