Chikara is often considered something of a dark horse, even among his fellow pro-heroes. Notably, the Iron-Blooded Hero is lacking in a feels good, all present smiling and optimistic persona. He is somewhat sarcastic, a bit blunt, and to some extent even lazy , but his alternative personality actually has drawn him quite a bit of popularity, lasting even from his hero debut over ten years ago. He has a steady fanbase, notably fan-clubs , of whom he hasnât exactly accepted or denied of their existence. It keeps him near the top of the ratings after all.
[break][break]
His honesty is likely his best quality. Though, he often doesnât directly show how much he really knows. Despite a sharp or even cold persona, he is quite approachable as an individual, even surprisingly casual in most conversations. He likes intelligent conversation, but just can easily be found goofing off and doing nothing quite meaningful. His half-smiles seem to come too easily, though few can tell if heâs really faking it or not. He simply responds that his modeling career taught him to always know how to put on a pretty face.
[break][break]
He has a few odd quirks (pun) of his own. He really enjoys street food and whenever he gets the chance, always tries out the latest food stands or other cafes he can sneak into. Often, itâs undercover because itâs more than just a little difficult to avoid the press. He also smokes, and yes, heâs very aware of how bad it is for his health, however, heâs been doing it for well over a decade and he likely wonât stop anytime soon. He doesnât smoke when on the job (IE when acting as a pro-hero or principal), because he believes itâs a bad influence on kids. But any other time he can catch a break, heâs ready to light one up.
[break][break]
Chikara has a rather branded sense of fashion, sophisticated and suave. Out of all the top-rated pro-heroes, many say that he is among the most stylish, appearing on fashion magazines and leading a rather accredited modeling career in tandem his hero one. His vanity is mostly shown in his penchant for fashion, though he seems well aware that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In truth, in his youth, his self-confidence was often shaken by his rather plain and even unassuming appearance, so he underwent a slow transformation into becoming his ideal of beauty in order to face his fears head-on.
[break][break]
In regards to his quirk, Chikara is well aware of the rather morbid theme of it. While he would never say his quirk is a conventional one that most people would want to have, he is simply stuck with it and he has done the best that he can, arguably more than enough. He does however, hate pain as his quirk constantly forces him to administer pain onto himself in order to even use it. He lives with scars forever marring his body, always knowing more are on the way, and wondering if any other person has a quirk that is unlucky as his.
[break][break]
Ultimately, there is a deeper level to Chikara that a rare few seem to understand about him or even are aware of. Despite being a rather easy-going individual, there a quality of melancholy to him that only the most astute would notice. Heâs a hero for his reasons, and perhaps he lost of one those reasons on the road to becoming one. He hides his jaded views upon the world rather well and buries his cynicism for he knows that such darkness only brings himself down. That and his life certainly wasnât always the high-profile, handsome pro-hero he is today. Furthermore, he certainly has more humble origins, and while heâs not ashamed to admit them, the past is something he rarely likes to recall. His penchant for avoiding his past is rather ironic considering his return to Kestubusu, his alma mater hero school.
[break][break]
Chikara is more well-known among the student body and staff as simply âSaeki-sensei,â the principal of the pro-hero school of his youth, Ketsubusu Academy High School. He spends the majority of his time locked up in meetings and general duties, attempting to secure funding or encouraging parents that a hero-career is the right one for their child. Of course, Chikara puts on many masks and his âSaeki-senseiâ is another one. And if you ask him, the most exhaustive one heâs ever had to wear.
[break][break]
Chikara does have a very strong sense of morality and justice. Despite everything else, he does still believe in heroes. He attributes that these beliefs didnât come from himself, but a friend he owes a great debt to and one he can never repay enough. He says he borrowed them, and heâs never giving them back.
[break][break]
In all, Chikara may be considered a rather complex individual. He has a rather storied history, but one that he often doesn't like to delve into. He is a hero, and despite some of his outwardly lacking heroism, he does hold the belief that it is his job as a hero to protect people, the future, and what is most precious to people.

Chikara is a uniquely handsome individual, even today he often serves as a fashion model in duality with his pro-hero and now, principal career. His skin tone is natural olive tan and his brunette hair is kept at a fashionable medium length, with some stray locks sweeping into his eyes. His eyes are a lighter almond brown and are accepted by sharp lines and a rather dry look about them. He stands at a slightly taller than average stature with a well-built, muscular physique. Chikaraâs presence naturally seems to always have a certain style and suave, almost as sharp as his tongue.
[break][break]
Curiously, even in more casual attire, Chikara normally wears long sleeves shirts and blazers. His arms and wrists are normally covered, if he can help it, hiding the most jarring of scars that mar the majority of his skin. The faint discoloring of stitches and wounds are well hidden by his clothing, for he simply doesnât like drawing attention to it if he can help it in most everyday situations.
[break][break]
Additionally, in his civilian attire, he almost can never be seen without a cigarette.
[break][break]
On his thumb, he wears a special ring. When twisted in a certain manner, a small blade protrudes from the metal, sharp enough to cause small or moderate cuts.
[break][break]
His hero outfit [ image ] forgoes most modesty, showing a fair amount of skin. They are dark-jade and black robes, reminiscent of Eastern attire.
[break][break]
[break][break]
[break]
Chikara was born to two average civilian parents in the small, insignificant countryside of the Tohoku region, a few hours north of Tokyo. His family had humble origins, on the lower end of the middle class. During these days, the young Chikara had to understand that he wouldnât always have the nicest clothes or the latest toys.
[break][break]
It was simply how things were.
[break][break]
When he was very young, he was often beset illness his family could not understand. He became fatigued very easily, was often sitting out of playing with other children due to his headaches, and in all, did not have a very âregularâ childhood.
[break][break]
While he was too young to resent his apparent handicaps, the young Chikara was still left out and seen as something of a weirdo from the rest of the kids. Unlike many other children who had some semblances of their quirks appear in their youth, Chikaraâs quirk did not awaken so easily.
[break][break]
His parents even worried if their son was to be quirkless.
[break][break]
But in his youth, Chikara did make one friend. A child who was seen as just as âweirdâ by others. Their name was Akaito, their quirk was that they could set their limbs ablaze on command. And it was Akaitoâs dream to be a hero. In a world where heroism was more frowned upon than encouraged, Akaito was just as much as an anomaly as the potentially quirkless Chikara.
[break][break]
When Chikara was once again, being mocked by other children, it was Akaito who came to his rescue. A fight started, Akaito had been overwhelmed and quickly lost. The young Chikara thought that the young boyâs endeavors were rather useless, but Akaito kept smiling and him that Chikara shouldnât let other people stop him from smiling.
[break][break]
A smile was something worth protecting. Chikara only called him stupid for thinking such thoughts.
[break][break]
The two would grow close, and of course, throughout their elementary and middle school days in their small country town, Akaito bragged to Chikara that they would make it into Hero School. Akaito planned on taking every entrance exam for nearly a dozen schools, and of course, his top choice was U.A, but any school that was willing to take a kid from the boonies would be good enough for him.
[break][break]
[break]
Upon walking home one day, Akaito and Chikara were harassed by the usual school bullies. They criticized Akaito for his dreams, but the boy wouldnât let their words discourage him. But Chikara would notice that his friendâs confidence was shaken and this time, he would not stand for it.
[break][break]
It was until this moment, that Chikaraâs quirk had yet to be revealed to anyone, including himself.
[break][break]
In the resulting fight, Chikara fell, receiving a large cut on his arm, and then, he started bleeding. When his blood bled from his wound, it did not flow properly. Instead, it began to harden, covered his arm in a hard, crystalline substance, colored blood red.
[break][break]
With the use of his newly awakened quirk, Chikara scared off the bullies, who believed that Chikara had turned into some kind of monster with some crazy blood themed quirk. It was Akaito who immediately gave Chikara his apparent Hero Name, Tekketsu, Iron-Blood. Now that he did have a quirk, Chikara could go to hero school.
[break][break]
For the next few months, Chikara and Akaito trained relentlessly in preparation for the hero entrance exams. Though, it became more obvious that Chikaraâs quirk was more troublesome than either of the boys expected. In order to use it, he had to bleed, or injure himself. But the pair of them continued on with their efforts, not letting the other become discouraged.
[break][break]
When the entrance exams came for UA, it was probably expected, Chikara didnât pass.
[break][break]
But Akaito did.
[break][break]
[break]
Chikara told Akaito to attend UA, that it would his chance to attend the best hero school in all of Japan. But Akaito refused, he wouldnât become a hero without his best friend. Akaito rescinded his application for UA, and instead, took the exams for Ketsubusu. He passed, along with Chikara. Together, the two of them would attend Ketusbusu Academy High School and end up becoming some of the most successful heroes in the Academyâs most recent times.
[break][break]
Chikara was already several steps behind other students, having less time to understand and train his quirk compared to the average student whoâd been aware of their oddities much longer than he. But it was here that Chikara began to train, to study, and to understand what it meant to be a hero and how much it meant to others. It would take time, but he would catch up and eventually, he would surpass all otherâs expectations. Throughout his time at Ketsubusu, Chikara was well aware of the stigma he received about his quirk. Rumors abounded that it was a better fit for a villain than a hero. Constantly he wondered if Akaito had taken pity on him by not attending UA. Perhaps they were friends, but would have been his fault that Akaito missed out on that chance? Perhaps they would have grown apart, going to different schools. Maybe then, they wouldnât have grown so close.
[break][break]
To this day, Chikara still wonders that if Akaito had attended UA, then losing him wouldnât have hurt so bad. Or maybe, he wouldnât have had to lose him at all.
[break][break]
During his Academy days, Chikara reinvented himself. He finally hit his growth spurt and began building up a muscular physique fit for a hero. He found out that building his self-confidence first started with making himself feel good about his appearance. Even in high school, he already gained a following of people who thought of him as one of the most desirable, handsome youths. And as he worked on his quirk, mastering his ability of blood control, the stigma of its morbid nature turned into something most others thought âcoolâ or edgy. And soon, powerful.
[break][break]
Graduating Ketsubusu together with Akaito, the pair were at the top rankings of their class and entered the world of pro-heroes together. Akaito was known as Flash Fire, the Flaming Fists hero. And Chikara retained the same name that Akaito had given years ago, Tekkestu, the Iron-Blooded Hero.
[break][break]
Besides hero-work, Chikara began to build up his career in fashion, starting modeling on the side that soon grew in popularity, going hand in hand with his rising status as a hero. Akaito took a more traditional approach, raising in the ranks by performing heroic acts, big and small, with a great smile and always seeking justice.
[break][break]
Time passed and Chikara soon found himself realizing that his relationship with Akaito was something heâd cherished for quite a long time.
[break][break]
[break]
Maybe it wasnât quite âfalling in love,â because that would have meant Akaito would have felt the same. Chikara never really got to know if that was true.
[break][break]
Because Akaito died.
[break][break]
Chikara was patrolling on the outskirts of Tokyo when he saw the newscast, and then black smoke erupted into the sky across the bay. He hadnât been fast enough. Arriving at the hospital moments after Akaito was taken, it was already too late.
[break][break]
Chikara was never the same.
[break][break]
After becoming a hero, after achieving a life-long dream, Akaito still died doing what he loved. There was something about that that never sat well with Chikara at all. Akaito did become a hero, only to die like one as well. In the months that followed Akaitoâs death, Chikaraâs foothold on his career and even his sanity came into question. Akaito had been his reason to enter the world of heroes, and the man was beginning to wonder if had any reason left to remain if he was gone.
[break][break]
When he questioned why he was left without an answer. The man was accustomed to living as âleft behind.â Too late in receiving his quirk, too late to save Akaito, and then, too late to even say goodbye.
[break][break]
When he had no one to blame, his attacks against villains because notably more ruthless. Ironically, it was during this time left alone and ruminating over his resentments that he spent more and more time fighting, training, and honing his skills with his quirk. Some part of him still felt that only if he had been strong enough, things could have been different.
[break][break]
But that past was in the past, and nothing could really be changed.
[break][break]
[break]
Joining a team was never really on his agenda. While he worked with other heroes, Akaito had been the closest thing to a partner heâd had. Even then, the two of them were more solo-acts than paired together. His meetings with an angel of death and a ghost in the wind came with the formation of an unlikely alliance. Heroes didnât work alone, perhaps it was one more lesson he had to learn.
[break][break]
The years passed and then a call came. It was unexpected. Hero work was a dangerous affair, and heroes, Chikara knew all too well, died in their line of duty all too often. But going missing? And too many of them?
[break][break]
The Ketsubusu principal was one of the ones who mysteriously vanished as well. Chikara recalled the pro-hero, being the same one who had overseen the school in his own academy days.
[break][break]
The school had no one else to turn to. Chikara realized that as well. So, he along with comrades found in Kaminari Oshiro and Sakura Chiyodai all became principals of their respective alma matter hero schools. Kaminari returned to UA, Sakura to Seijin, and Chikara came back to Ketsubusu.
[break][break]
It had been years since his return and walking the halls brought back memories of days long past. Everywhere he turned, he seemed to see two young kids chasing a dream of becoming heroes.
[break][break]
Maybe he really was just a sucker for punishment.

OTHER:

[break][break]
Thumb Ring Blades - [ image ] Upon his thumbs, Chikara wears special rings, that when twisted, small serrated blades poke out from the bands. These rings are used into order to cut himself and make himself bleed, thus allowing access and activation to the use of his quirk. He normally only wears one when in civilian attire. When acting as a hero, he wears both of them.

QUIRK: Blood-Letting
[break]
QUIRK TYPE: Emitter
[break]
QUIRK RANK: Diamond
[break]
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: Blood Letting allows Chikara to harden and control his blood outside of his body. When Chikaraâs blood is exposed to air, it hardens to an extremely dense crystal-like form. Chikara can use his blood to form various constructs from it, including blades, shields and armor, or even bullets and spikes. Intense training of his quirk has allowed Chikara to master it over the years, creating several signature techniques and unlocking innate abilities of his quirk.
[break][break]
Chikara is naturally polycythemic, meaning that he has more blood than the average human. His body further produces and more efficiently creates blood than most average people. While this had once made him more chronically fatigued in his youth, he was learned that it is because of his Quirk, which forces him to loose blood anytime he desires to use it.
[break][break]
Chikara can use his quirk for up to [ 13 posts. ]
[break][break]
Developed Techniques
[break]
QUIRK DRAWBACKS: As obvious as it is, Chikara must injure himself and make himself bleed in order to use his quirk. While he can use his own hardened blood to seal his wounds, he does not heal faster than any average person.
[break][break]
Chikara is exempt from any type of blood transfusion or donation. His blood would simply harden before being transferred to another. Conversely, any kind of blood given to him would simply be rejected by his body.
[break][break]
Extensive and strained use of his quirk caused can cause Chikara to experience massive blood loss and severe to fatal anemia. Even small battles can cause strain if heâs not careful. If pushed to his limits, Chikara must rest for an entire 24-hour period in order for his body to replenish the lost blood.
[break][break]
Due to his polycythemia, Chikara can be naturally fatigued without doing much physical activity at all, resulting in headaches and an overall sluggish demeanor. While it was worse in his youth, it still affects him to this day. Thus, he must make himself bleed (or use his quirk) on occasion in order to get rid of his excess blood.

[break][break]
âSelfless people are so annoying.â
[break][break]
âFalling in love? Donât recommend it.â
[break][break]
âHeroes⌠donât work alone you know?â

Quirk AND SKILLS
[break][break]
- Blood Scythe - [ image ] Blood Scythe is one of Chikaraâs signature abilities. Cutting vertically across his forearm, Chikaraâs blood forms a scythe-like blade that he can use for melee to mid-range combat. The size of the blade can be changed depending on how much he wishes to bleed. The blades can cut at Diamond rank damage. This base technique also has a Twin Blood Scythe version in which Chikara creates Blood Scythes from both of his forearms.
- Blood Skin - [ image ] Blood Skin is where Chikara allows his blood to cover a small or large portion of his body, effectively making a layer of his hardened blood across his skin. This increases his defenses to his protected portion and further can protect his injuries as well as seal his own wounds. Blood Skin can be applied to allies in order to bolster their own defenses or temporarily seal their own wounds.
- Blood Rain - [ image ] Chikara allows himself to bleed a fair amount of blood, the blood will harden, crystalizing into small fist-sized diamonds that Chikara launches at a target. They can cause major cuts and damage up to Diamond rank. While Blood Rain is the more advanced form of this technique, Blood Bullet is when Chikara shoots only one or several of these blood crystals rather than a whole wave of them.
- Blood Sakura - [ image ] Sakura is an advanced Blood Letting technique where Chikara bleeds from a larger portion of his body, such as his back, and creates up to four appendages made of his blood. Chikara can control the appendages freely, using them to grab or block objects or fight in active combat.
- Ketsueki Karuta (Blood Armor) - [ image ] Ketsueki Karuta is Chikara's most advanced and likely most dangerous Blood-Letting Technique. This move requires Chikara to use up to 2 liters of his own blood in order to cover his entire body in a hardened, crystalline form, essentially creating a suite of armor. His arms are encased in large spikes, and from his back several more spikes jut out that can be used offensively, from shooting out in another form of Blood Rain to ramming into objects or people. His face is further obscured by a mask of blood, a v-shaped intimidating shape with a sharp spiked mouth, curling similar to that of a falcon or other raptor.
