Kera was born the only child of an infamous villain who once terrorized all of Japan; a vicious criminal known to the to the public as Vile Fang (actual name: Bram Luciel). The wielder of a nightmarish Quirk called Stoker, which granted him a vast arsenal of powerful abilities such as flight, shapeshifting, and even the ability to draw strength from blood he sucked from his victims, which would also put them under his control for varying lengths of time depending on blood type.

Vile Fang's power and influence made him a substantial priority in Western Japan, where most of his business and dealings took place. He had substantial sway over the criminal underground, with a particular focus on illegal medical procedures and goods such as organ trading and drugs. Because of how heavily pursued he was,  Bram brought up his daughter and had her attend important business in his place. Kera had no desire to work as a criminal however, and so he used his Quirk to force her to act as his subordinate.

Eventually Bram's empire slipped, however, catching the attention of many western heroes. One in particular was Mercury, aka Sora Nakoma, who had graduated from Shiketsu Academy the previous year and was working alongside several of his former classmates as they built an agency together. They, along with many other heroes, stormed Bram's base of operations in an effort to finally put an end to his crimes.

As they drew closer and his subordinates fell one by one, he once again forced Kera to do his bidding and fight off Sora, who at this point was the only unoccupied member of the raid team. The battle between the two was fierce, but the vicious combat caused Bram's Quirk to wear off faster than normal and she eventually came to her senses, surrendering. Kera did what she could to inform the heroes as to her father's abilities, but he had little in the ways of weakness. Their only hope would be to drag the fight outside and stall him until daybreak, when the sun would rise and weaken his powers.

Stall him they did, but misfortune struck as the sun was obstructed by a heavy fog in the morning; Bram was weakened, but not enough. Still, even he was growing tired, and so he called upon Kera to surrender her blood to him so that he could regain his strength. She arrived and offered her neck to her father, but a few minutes after he drank her blood he began to falter. Kera had taken advantage of the drug supplies her father had lying around and injected her bloodstream with shavings from her hooves. As they flowed through his veins she used her Quirk to harden them, creating blockages in him that weakened the flow of blood. With this advantage the heroes were able to push him back, and ultimately Sora was able to use his wind to force Bram high above the fog, into the sunlight, where he kept the villain until he was weak enough to be detained.

Though initially content with the fact that she would be arrested for assisting Bram, Kera was surprised when Sora and his classmates vouched for her character, explaining to the authorities how she had been controlled by her father's Quirk. As they were skeptical however, they came to a deal; she would be under Sora's custody, so that he could keep an eye on her for any suspicious activity.

Since then, Kera has worked at Sora''s hero agency. At first she was little more than an assistant, but with some prodding from Mercury she was eventually convinced to try her hand at being a hero. She took many classes in order to earn herself a hero license, and though even to this day she faces prejudice due to her resemblance to and connection with her father, Kera strives to protect the people of Japan alongside her savior and his company in whatever ways that she can.

QUIRK TYPE: Mutation
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: Kera's power grants her the ability to control and manipulate the various parts of her body that contain Keratin; in her specific case, this includes her nails, her hair, her skin, and her hooves. Though simple, this power grants her an astonishingly versatile arsenal of tactics and abilities to call upon. She can stretch her hair and nails out like tentacles to grab and manipulate objects, as well as harden them to use for attacking and defending as barriers or wicked spears and blades to impale or slash. She can also strengthen her skin to become far more resistant to damage, and harden the hooves on her feet to turn them into devastating crushing weapons. Less directly offensive, Kera is also able to climb a multitude of surfaces by piercing or grasping them with her nails and hair, or lift heavy objects thanks to their strength.
